Just started messing around in project cars today and realized they have the California Highway on here. It was like every enthusiasts dream 12.83 miles of abandoned perfection with a coastline and tunnels.

I really hope you are getting nice framerate with that laptop(i can’t make what it is, so maybe it is good). Sadly PCARS is one of the big dissapointments for me this year. I have waited so long only to find that the game have serious issues with AMD GPUs, like the ones I am using and more or less being too arcady and the dismal AI that plague some races.

I have an 8 GB 970m in there so the framerate is flawless. I have had bad experiences with AMD so I avoid them.

You’re not missing much. Pcars is more of a simcade than an actual sim. I waited so long for night racing at le mans in p1 cars. But the physics are so bad I just can’t enjoy it.

I have the v2’s, but trust me they’re the best upgrade you can get over the stock logitech pedals. It’s amazing the difference.

refresh rate isn’t the problem with the rift, pixel density is. That’s the biggest drawback to it right now. Motion is perfectly fluid and smooth, IF the game is set up for it properly.

It is a lot of fun I just wish it had a bit larger of a road car selection. It is great if you like formula cars and stuff but I find that there isn’t too many cars I am interested in. The track selection though is spot on and has my favorites and more.

You have a play seat, I am so jealous. I started playing around with the new DLC today, and it’s just rewoken my desire to shell out $1000 for a Obutto r3volution cockpit. Alternatively, my wants also lie with the more reasonable $300 OMP wheel upgrade for my G27.
How are you liking your setup so far? The only experience I’ve had playing PCars on my G550 was streaming it from my PC in another room (getting by with an 8350/r9 290).

I like it, I think it is the right setup for those who don’t want to shell out some serious money.
